As information technology develops and people get free access to information via the internet, their propensity to use other people’s words and thoughts in their own works increases tremendously. The quality and content of write-ups are regressing day by day fashioning a crib-laden generation. Students today often believe that information available online is common knowledge and see no moral or ethical fall back in plagiarising from internet sources. Anushka Dhir, postgraduate student at Symbiosis School of Economics, discusses ways and methods to curtail and prevent this phenomenon that plagues modern academia.
