Category
1. Foreign National (FN):
A Foreign National shall mean citizens of all countries other than India, who are not of Indian origin as defined under the expression PIO/OCI. Such Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply as Foreign Nationals.
Provided that any subsequent changes in the definition as may be notified by the Govt. of India shall have the same latest meaning respectively assigned to them. The other expressions not defined herein shall have the meaning as may be assigned any subsequent notification of Govt. of India.
2. Non Resident Indian (NRI):
A student is eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI) if he/she is an Indian National and has appeared for either 10th or 10+2 (equivalent to the Indian 10th or 12th) examination outside India. It is mandatory for one of the two qualifying examinations to be given outside India.
3. Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI):
A student is eligible to apply as an Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) if he/she has a OCI card, and is a citizen of a country other than India.
Recognition Of Board
Admissions are in conformity with the guidelines set by the Association of Indian Universities and the Statutory Bodies of India like the Indian Nursing Council, All India Council for Technical Education, Bar Council of India, etc.
Only candidates who have the requisite qualification from foreign universities or Boards of Higher Education accredited and recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Govt. of India, New Delhi are eligible to apply at Symbiosis institutes for admission.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has an online portal for granting equivalence to qualifications from foreign educational institutions. The UGC will communicate its decision within 15 days of receiving an application. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has guidelines for granting equivalence to foreign degrees. The UGC will consider the curriculum of the foreign degree to determine if it is equivalent to a degree in India.
